Background

For decades, Leon Wasser MBA, P.Eng., has been professionally engaged in in finding ways to to improve the environment and business operations through the identification and application of appropriate technology. A leader. Even while still in university, he worked for Canada’s first solar energy company and Canada’s first. At York University he led many campus-wide greenvironmentally oriented consulting engineering firm. Subsequently, he implemented large scale computerization projects for Atomic Energy Canada, Defence Construction Canada and York University. At York University Leon Wasser led numerous environmental initiatives including lauching Canada’s largest non-municipal recycling program, a light pollution mitigation program, campus-wide port-a-mug and residence students tote bag programs, and as chair of the York University Presidential Advisory Committee on Parking he co-authored and implemented the York University Green Transportation Plan.

In recent years, Leon Wasser has returned full time to the green and clean energy sector, working with developers of many innovative Canadian technologies including power quality analysis and remediation systems,  solar shingles, motion controlled LED tube lights, low temperature, solar hot water, solar window coatings, micro-wind turbines and many other technologies. He has established a relationship with many research-oriented universities and colleges, is a fellow of the York University International Institute for Renewable Energy and served as an advisor to the creation of the Integrated Energy Program at Centennial College.

Leon has pioneered the entry of many global energy technologies into Canada including air curtains from Russia, facilities management software from the USA, and ocean wave and water technologies from Israel.

Leon has a current focus on multiple technologies related to hydrogen, nanotech and infection control. He is also actively engaged in professional leadership roles in hydrogen, sustainable energy and engineering organizations. Leon Wasser also lectures and writes professionally on sustainability and energy issues.
